54th Annual Trail of Lights
Zilker Park – 7 to 10 p.m.
The Trail of Lights is part of the essential Austin experience, lighting up the season with a celebration of community, memories and fun. The annual Tree Lighting ceremony will be held in November, then the 5k fun run will kick off the spectacular season in early December. Plan your visit early and don’t forget to take a spin under the Zilker Tree!
General admission is $3 for guests age 12 and up.

The 9th Annual Joyous Mozart’s Christmas Light Show is here and better than ever! This year is an on-going experience with over one million LED lights, a giant coffee mug, and more. New this year is the Cobalt Blue Piano that will be played by pianist all season long. They also have a German Market in the parking lot serving warm treats as you walk in. Whether you’ve been before or not, this is the year to add the Mozart’s Light Show to your calendar!  3825 Lake Austin Blvd., Austin

Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are always open to the public, but please check the website or call Lamar Guest Services at (512) 476-1206 during the week to confirm public skating hours on weekdays. They are hosting several private parties throughout the month of December during which the skating rink will be closed. Every Friday throughout the ice rink season, the skating soundtrack is curated by KUTX for the KUTX Music Fridays series – don’t miss out.

Come and celebrate the first day of the New Year with a $16 brunch buffet at The Park (Domain or South Lamar) which will include all the favorites such as biscuits and gravy, applewood smoked bacon, migas, sausage, french toast, pancakes, and more. The New Year’s Day brunch will also feature $2 mimosas with five flavors to choose from – classic orange, strawberry citrus, prickly pear, mango ginger and pineapple basil – as well as $5 build-your-own Grey Goose Bloody Mary Bar.

Formula Americas Driving Experience at Circuit Of The Americas

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is proud to announce the new Formula Americas Driving Experience. The Formula Americas Driving Experience is the third world-class driving experience offered by the one and only F1 track in the United States, following the Audi Driving Experience and COTA Karting. The Formula Americas Driving Experience is now at COTA. Book your experience now!
The Formula Americas Driving Experience is the ultimate open-wheel driving experience, putting the driver in the cockpit of one of the world’s most advanced open-wheel race cars. With Formula Americas, anyone who has dreamt of being a race car driver can make that dream a reality.
The 90-minute Level One activity includes a brief classroom session and a track orientation session before drivers strap in for laps on the 2.3 mile National Circuit and three open-wheel laps around the full 3.4 mile Grand Prix Circuit. That program is priced at $650.

Circuit of The Americas
The Pirelli World Challenge offers unparalleled access to more makes and models than any other racing series. This series features more than 100 production-based cars (like the ones you drive) that have been prepped specially for racing. There will even be access to the paddock to see the cars up close, hear the engines roar and speak with the drivers.

The popular, American-bred IndyCar series tackles COTA’s curves this March. On top of all the action on track, IndyCar attendees with Saturday admission will also be treated to a special COTA Super Stage performance from Grammy Award winning rock band Muse.

Austin International Poetry Festival

Poets from around the world, country and all of Texas gather for four days of live performances, readings and workshops during the Austin International Poetry Festival in April of every year. Texas’ largest 10K race and one of the nation’s top runs draws some 18,000 serious and not-so-serious runners.

30th Annual Old Settler’s Music Festival
Tilmon, TX
Central Texas’ signature music event featuring Grammy-winning Americana, arts and crafts, camping, food and libations. Acoustic jazz, blues and bluegrass are all performed by old-time local favorites and award-winning artists from around the world.

MOTOGP Grand Prix of The Americas
Circuit of The AmericasTM
MotoGPTM, the pinnacle of all motorcycle World Championships, joins the roster of racing events at the Circuit of The AmericasTM track with a three-day series at the purpose built Grand Prix venue. With the addition of this race, the new circuit is the first North American racing venue to host both two-and four-wheeled World Championship events in one year’s time.

Austin Fashion Week showcases the work of fashion designers, photographers, hair stylists, makeup artists and models from around the state of Texas with over a hundred including runway shows, designer meet-and-greets, themed parties and benefits for Austin non-profits.

Fusebox is a hybrid arts festival that champions adventurous works of art in theater, dance, film, music, literature, visual and culinary arts. The NOLA, Texas Food & Music Festival showcases funk, brass, zydeco, Cajun, and blues music with seven bands plus free crawfish, kids activities, arts and crafts vendors and more.

TX German Bier & Brezel Fest
Austin Saengerrunde & Scholz Garten
The Austin Saengerrunde and Foodways Texas have partnered up to create the Texas German Bier (beer) and Brezel (Pretzel) Festival. Local craft breweries will showcase specialty German-style bier and brezel to accompany. Local chefs, bakers and other brezel-dough makers will offer up delicious bites to sample!

Latino Music Month

The many Latino music genres are showcased during performances on the Plaza at Austin City Hall each Friday at noon. Other special events throughout the month are presented as well.

Cine Las Americas International Film Festival
Various Locations
The festival showcases contemporary films and videos from Latin America (North, Central, South America and the Caribbean) and the Iberian Peninsula. Films and videos made by or about Latinos in the U.S. or the rest of the world, as well as films and videos by or about indigenous groups of the Americas are also invited to participate.

The Pecan Street Spring Festival
Historic Sixth Street
A free, family event, the Pecan Street Festival is the oldest and largest art festival in Central Texas. Local musicians, food vendors, artists, and craftspeople turn Sixth Street – historically called Pecan Street – into a lively street fair where there is something for people of all ages.

The Hot Luck: Live Food & Music festival returns to honor the soul, sweat and DIY diversity of the food and music world. Fun Stop 5K & Fest
Long Center
Anything is possible at the decade-old Fun Stop 5K and Festival — formerly known as Keep Austin Weird Fest & 5K. Run, skip or race through the streets of downtown Austin wearing the wackiest costume. Unofficially known as “the slowest 5K you will ever run,” this race is designed for amusement and fun.

Local acts like Golden Dawn Arkestra, Emily Wolfe, Moving Panoramas, Ringo Deathstarr and more will take over stages in celebration of summer in the Live Music Capital of the World®.

The PRIDE Festival is the largest annual LGBTQ advocacy and fundraising event in Central Texas! Dozens of non-profit organizations and social clubs use the Festival as a platform to inform and interact with the thousands of attendees. Each year, countless people find new organizations to join, causes to support and opportunities to volunteer.

Celebrate this batty event as the world’s largest urban bat colony (1.5 million Mexican Free-Tailed Bats which take up seasonal residence beneath the Ann Richard’s Congress Street Bridge) take to the skies for their nightly flight. Fiesta Gardens
The Texas Craft Brewers Fest is the largest beer festival for and by Texas Brewers. This annual event features the best of Texas craft beer and displays the thriving beer community across the Lone Star State.

Waterloo Music Festival
Carson Creek Ranch
Waterloo is an independent festival that celebrates the roots of Austin music culture, and features nationally renowned jam bands performing alongside the city’s finest musical acts during a weekend of camping.

One of the country’s largest celebrations of live music, this two weekend, six-day festival brings the magic of the famed public TV series “Austin City Limits” outside the studio and into Austin’s most beloved park. Texas State Capitol Building
The Texas Book Festival has evolved into one of the premier literary events in the country and hosts about 250 authors each year. More than 40,000 book lovers of all ages attend the Festival annually, enjoying readings, panel discussions, signings, cooking demonstrations, live music, local food, YA authors, children’s activities and exhibiting vendors from across the state.

Viva La Vida Festival & Parade
Downtown Austin
Viva La Vida is Austin’s largest and longest-running Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival, featuring a Grand Procession, art activities and demos, traditional foods, live music and performances throughout the day.

FORMULA 1 United States Grand Prix
Circuit of The Americas
International drivers will be in Austin this October to compete in the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of The Americas track. This event promises three days of racing, camping, live music events and more – including headlining performances by Justin Timberlake and Stevie Wonder for ticketholders.

Formerly Psych Fest, this independent festival has grown from a small word-of-mouth event to an internationally acclaimed, full weekend event that attracts attendees from all over the world.
